Recent Changes made to the Student Visa Programme

The simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF), the new application process for students’ visas for the 2016-2017 has now come out. Those students who want to study in Australia, it could never be easier than it has become now.

Changes in Student Visa Programme
The changes state that it doesn’t affect those who are currently enrolled in Australia. However, family members of those currently studying in Australia will have to apply for the student visa (subclass 500) as well according to the recent amendments made.

Another consequential change that has been made that student under visa subclass 500 has to maintain enrollment at the same level or higher AQF unless they are undertaking a doctoral degree (AQF10) and transfer to a master’s degree (AQF9).

The new framework has changed the system which has replaced the current Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) and Assessment Level arrangements.

Essentials for Immigration
In order to meet the requirements according to the sudden changes in the framework, students will have to give more documentations to be eligible to pursue their academics in the country. Changes may influence your English language eligibility criteria and financial capacity requirements for your eligibility, which happen to differ according to your country’s immigration risk level.
This new simplified framework has replaced the Streamlined Visa Processing arrangements and Assessments Level Framework. The amendment has reduced student visa classes from eight to two and introduced a single immigration risk framework for all the international students, rather than three assessment levels. Under the current framework, students’ evidential requirements will be based on their country and education provider, instead of the education sector in which they choose to study.

So, these amendments have made things way too easier for those who have been willing to study in Australia and fearing the formalities. Nevertheless, this step by the Australian government has changed a complete mindset and motivated students to come to their country and experience most friendly environment.
